Reclaim Your Focus. Redesign Your Week. Lead Your Life.
A 90-Minute Experience by Layla McGlone
Before We Begin
?
On a scale of 1–10, how focused is your life right now?
Write your number. Don't think. Don't justify. Just answer.
Segment 1 · Wake Up
The Honest Truth
Most leaders are not unfocused because they lack discipline. They are unfocused because they are running a program they didn't consciously install.
The busyness. The people-pleasing. The 2AM thoughts. The calendar that belongs to everyone else. These are not character flaws — they are programs. And programs can be rewritten.
Focus Is Affected by Four Things
🔥
Physical Fuel
Rest · Movement · Nourishment Your biology funds or bankrupts your focus
🧠
Mental Sovereignty
Identity · Beliefs · Story The program running beneath everything
🕐
Time Leadership
Calendar · Priorities · Margins Who owns your hours?
🧭
Clarity of Purpose
Values · Vision · Direction When you know what your time is FOR
Rate yourself 1–10 in each quadrant in your workbook now.

Which quadrant surprised you most?
Turn to the person beside you. Share your four scores and name the quadrant that surprised you most — either lower than expected, or where you felt the most recognition.
There are no wrong answers. This is your honest baseline. The shock you feel right now is exactly where transformation begins.

The Core
What story is running your focus?
Foundations That Drive Results
Foundations That Drive Results
1
Results
Be clear on the results you want. Hold your focus to align your attitudes and behaviors.
2
Behaviors
The behaviors and actions you take consistently determine the quality of your results.
3
Attitudes
Guard your attitudes — they drive your behaviors. Everything flows from here.

IBS — Identity · Beliefs · Story
At the core of all that you are. Keep them healthy to empower the best you.
The Core Work
The Focus Lie
Every unfocused life is running at least one big lie at its core.
"I'm too busy." · "There's never enough time." · "I can't say no." "I have to do everything myself." · "I'll focus when things slow down."
These are not facts. They are programs. Installed through repetition. Running on autopilot.
And they can be rewritten — starting in the next 3 minutes.

Individual Exercise · 5 Minutes
Evict the Lie. Install the Truth.
Step 1: Write your #1 focus lie — the story you've been telling about your time, focus, or capacity. In your own words. The one that's been living rent-free.
Step 2: Cross it out. Physically draw a line through it.
Step 3: Write the truth that replaces it. Present tense. First person. Specific to you.
Step 4: Read it aloud to your partner.
⏱ 5 minutes · Then share one with the room

The Fuel
Is your biology funding or bankrupting your focus?
Three Things Your Brain Needs to Focus
Not wellness advice. Performance infrastructure.
😴
Rest
Your leadership HQ — the prefrontal cortex — degrades first and fastest with poor sleep. 5-6 hours measurably impairs your judgment and decision-making.
Rest is a weapon. Schedule it first.
My current score
🏃
Movement
A 20-minute walk measurably increases focused attention for 2-3 hours. Exercise is not separate from your productivity — it is one of its primary drivers.
The 30 min you can't afford is your most productive.
My current score
🥗
Nourishment
Blood sugar volatility destroys sustained focus. The 2PM crash is not laziness — it is biochemistry. Stable fuel produces stable attention.
What you eat is what your brain thinks with.

The One Biological Upgrade — This Week
Look at your three scores — Rest, Movement, Nourishment. Which one is lowest? Which one, if improved by just 20%, would have the greatest impact on your daily focus?
Don't overhaul everything. One thing. This week. Specific and small enough to actually happen.

Two Questions. Every Request. Every Time.
Before you say yes to anything — run it through these two questions. They take 10 seconds and save you hours.
1
Does this require MY unique fingerprint? Is this something only I can do — at this level, with my specific gifts? If someone else could do this equally well, it may belong on someone else's plate.
2
Is this aligned with my current season's priorities? A good opportunity at the wrong time is still a distraction. Does this move my most important goals forward?

The Pause That Protects Everything
Practice This Out Loud — Right Now
Say it with me: "Let me check my calendar and get back to you."
That pause — right there — is your protection. It is not avoidance. It is time leadership. You are checking your ideal week. You are running the filter. You are choosing your yes instead of defaulting to it.
Say it again. Own it. It gets easier every time.

Exchange contact information with your partner right now. You will check in with each other on Day 7 — one question only:
"Did you do the one thing you committed to?"
Research shows that a specific accountability appointment increases completion rates to 95%. This is not a soft motivational gesture. It is the highest-leverage move you can make in the next 3 minutes.

The Declaration
Read This Together — Out Loud
"I am done being busy. I am done letting my calendar own me. I choose to lead my time, fuel my focus, and live full — on purpose."
Sign your declaration in your workbook. This is not a worksheet. It is a covenant — with yourself, with the life you are choosing, and with the version of you that has been waiting for this moment.
The Final Moment
How do you want to leave this room feeling?
One word. Shout it out.
